Clinical Trial Shows the Benefits of Endogenous Glutathione Enhancement
Glycine and N-acetylcysteine (GlyNAC) supplementation in older adults improves glutathione deficiency, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation, insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunction, genotoxicity, muscle strength, and cognition: Results of a pilot clinical trial
This is a clinical trial on a product the has combined glycine with NAC to form GlyNAC.
N-acetylcysteine and Riboceine are 2 compounds that protect cysteine so it can be delivered into the body where it can produce endogenous glutathione. Endogenous means that it is produced by the body. Cysteine is the rate-limiting component of glutathione (GSH) which means the amount of cysteine that you can get into the body determines the quantity of glutathione your body can produce. When nutrients such as vitamins are introduced into the body from outside sources it is called exogenous. Oral and intravenous glutathione fall into the exogenous category and are not nearly as effective if even at all. Oral glutathione does not get past the digestive tract into the body. In a direct study, Riboceine has been proven to be 300% more effective than NAC. Riboceine also does not have the side effects associated with over 750mg of NAC. NAC is not patentable, but the Baylor College of Medicine holds a patent on GlyNAC. The Riboceine patent is owned by Max International LLC.

Around the age of 40, your body’s ability to produce glutathione declines. The toxicity in our environment and lifestyle also depletes your glutathione levels. Alcohol is the most heavily consumed toxin in the world and depletes your glutathione levels very quickly.
